Happy 5th Anniversary Honey

22270008

Five years ago today we were rushing around to leave for the Port of Miami. I was a nervous wreck, not about the wedding ~ I just knew I was going to forget something. Needing all the wedding gear, favors, plus getting us ready, and packing for the honeymoon, was a bit much. But we made it and I didn't forget a thing ~ That we couldn't buy along the way anyway. LOL

22270017

It was a beautiful ceremony on Carnival's Paradise ship, we had an exciting honeymoon with a ton of excursions, and it has been an amazing five years so far. Leon, I love you more and more each day, thank you for being my husband! I look forward to a lifetime with you!

This is the anniversary card I made for Leon. He got such a kick out of the fish on his birthday card I thought I would use him again. The fish is by Endless Creations, and you actually get two fish on one wooden block so you can stamp them facing each other like that. How cool right! I used the long grass by A Muse again for seaweed. Kiss Kiss and the tiny hearts are also by A Muse. I ran the blue Bazzill paper through the bubbles embossing folders for a little texture. This was a quick card but I think it came out cute.

Happy Mother's Day

DSC_0010

This is my sister's first Mother's Day so I wanted to make her a special card, I think photo cards are perfect for that something extra special and personal. I went through all my photos of Gavin looking for a good one of them together but just like all good Mom's Steph is usually the one behind the camera, so this photo I used is a few months old but I think it came out cute.

DSC_0012

This is another photo card I made for my Mom from the kids. This photo was just taken this Easter, if I had been thinking I would have gotten Gavin in this one as well and it could have been from all her grandkids, but I think he was taking a nap at the time.  It's not often I have all my kids together anymore.

DSC_0018

This is a quick card I made for my Mom from Leon and I. It was based off the thank you card I made last month, I just added a few more flowers to this one.

I hope all the Mom's are enjoying their day today!
I have to go get dressed now, we are all meeting for dinner.

Happy Birthday Honey

Today is Leon's birthday! We are keeping it kind of low key this year but to be honest I think that is how he really likes it best. This morning I made him a monte cristo sandwich for breakfast, one of his favorite treats. Then we went shopping for everything you need to make his famous chicken wings and onion rings for dinner. But before we headed home we stopped at Rita's Italian Ice for a little birthday treat. (Leon is not really a big birthday cake kind of guy) So all in all it has been a very nice day.

DSC_0001

I have not been doing much in my craft room at all since going back to school but I did find some time to get in there this weekend to make Leon a birthday card. I was not about to start going to Hallmark! I was pretty pleased with how his card came out.

DSC_0001_2

I finally got the chance to use my Fiskars wave border punch. I am so glad I picked that up when I did! The long grass and It's your day stamps are by A Muse. I think the long grass made a great seaweed back drop for Mr. Fish. The fish is a new stamp I got at the convention back in February by a company called Endless Creations. The swivel came from Leon's tackle....shh don't tell him. I think it added a great look to the card!

School is going well, I finished my second term this week. So far I have completed...

Anatomy and Physiology I & II
Biostatistics
and English

On Monday I start Chemistry and Communication. This is one non stop program!

Special Thanks

Last month while I was missing from blogging, I celebrated my 39th birthday on February 10th. I needed to make a few thank you cards and since time is limited these days I wanted something cute and stylish but something that I could make quick.

So I reached for my new A Muse spring release stamps that had not seen ink yet and this is what I came up with.

DSC_0024

I love the new long grass stamp and this little flower adds just the right touch. You can't tell in the photo but I added tiny twinkle stickers in the center of each flower for a little spring bling. I really like this color combo too. I know its a little darker then most are using this time of year but I was having fun with some new Perfect Match ink pads I ordered a while back.

This was about it for my stamping this weekend so I won't have much more to post this week.

School is keeping me VERY busy but it is going very well. I got my first tests back this week and so far I can say I am holding an A in both classes. (Anatomy and Statistics) I am actually at my midterms right now so I will be hitting the books pretty hard this week. Thank goodness next week is spring break from work!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

DSC_0020

I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy St. Patrick's Day! This is a very special holiday for me not only because I am Irish but Leon proposed on St. Patty's Day so we always have an extra special reason to celebrate. Since I'll be in school until 10:00 tonight we had our celebration over the weekend. He made me the BEST Irish potato and leek soup and shepherd's pie for dinner Sunday night! So while he was busy in the kitchen I made him this card to find while I am at school.

Goodluckabella is stamped in Palette Noir Black ink and colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. The pattern paper is by Reminisce the Green Day collection and the shamrocks I found last year at Joann's.

I hope you all have a fun filled Day!

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Missing in Action...

But for a good cause. Here is a little crafty hint.

DSC_0016

This is something that Leon and I have been talking about for a while now and well I just jumped in with both feet. In addition to working full time I am also now going to school full time at night! So as you can guess time is a bit non existent right now.

I am going for a new degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician, hence the card above. I can't find any stamps of girls in just scrubs so Booboobella will have to make do for now until some company (Hint hint) makes one more suitable. LOL I actually made this card for the my school rep who helped me get all the paper work done in time to start this semester.

Bella is stamped in Palette  Noir Black ink and colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. The pattern paper is an old one by K & Company but I thought it match the scrubs well. "Thank you" is from A Muse and the ribbon is by American Crafts. A simple quick card but right now that is all I have time for.  :)

Hopefully I'll be able to find time to make cards on the weekends but I have a feeling my homework will take up a lot of my time! But I promise to try to post as often as I can, I hope (If anyone is still out there) you'll still stop by and check in to see how I am doing with my cards and studies.

Saltbox Color Challenge

Last week some of the Saltbox Studio Design Team were talking about doing some card challenges. Well Elena came up with this great color combination and our first challenge for 2009 was issued to the Team. For a little extra fun we invited the A Muse Creative Team to play along too!

DSC_0001

The Color Challenge was to use Swiss Red and Cabana Blue a great winter combination, perfect for this cold front we are having this week. It's going to be 38 tomorrow! Brrrr!

DSC_0004

I used one of the adorable snowmen from the Saltbox Studio Winter Wonders set and combined it with an A Muse sentiment for a cute thank you card that I need to mail out this week to a friend! I stamped the image in A Muse dye ink and colored it Copics. Then I added a little Star Dust Stickles for a little winter sparkle.

Be sure to check out the blogs of Elena, Lexi, Mary Rose, Emily, Geeta, Lori, Novell, Rhonda, and Sherry to see what they came up with too!

7 Months Old Already!

Each month my sister has had a little "birthday" party for Gavin to celebrate his month birthdays. Yesterday was his 7 month birthday already and we all got together for dinner and dessert.

DSC_0046

He had seven little candles and we sang Happy Birthday but all Gavin wanted was to get his hands on that cake! He is going to be a pro at this by the time his 1st birthday gets here. *wink*

DSC_0080

Here is an after shot ~ Boy did he get good and chocolatey! He even had it on his back but he had a good time!

DSC_0086

Gavin is such a good boy he even tried to clean up when he was all done eating his yummy cake. *laugh*

I have been busy working on Gavin's Baptism invitations so I'll have one to post soon. I am pretty happy with the way they are coming out. I hope you are having a crafty weekend!

The Love Shack

Here is another Sneak Peek that has everyone singing the B-52's. This is a quick card I put together last night after finding a new blog. Clean & Simple Stamping goes perfectly with the A Muse "Think Simple Think A Muse" motto! I found this sketch and just fell in *love* with the sample card ~ So much so I didn't change a thing! *wink*

DSC_0007

I think the Swiss Red and Chocolate work so well together as a color combo against the white. I can see this sketch popping up in my work a lot more.

DSC_0004

I stamped the Love Shack in Stazon Jet Black Ink and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I cut it out and layered it on top of the scalloped circle, which is up on foam tape for some extra dimension. I stamped Happy Valentine's Day in Colorbox Warm Red ink as a finishing touch. The Swiss Red and Kitchen Chocolate paper are from A Muse. The white ribbon is from Michael's.

Only one more day until the Sweet Shop release will be available for purchase on the A Muse site!!!

Frame It Up

Sorry for the late post today but it was back to work for me. YUCK! It's always hard when vacation comes to an end, they go by way too fast!

I have another Sweet Shop Sneak Peek from the A Muse Release, which will be available in only two more days! These images are just so cute!

DSC_0001

I found this cute pink frame at Target last weekend and got the idea to make this cute Sweet Shop Frame. I used three new stamps on it ~ The Milkshake, Ice Cream, and Dessert First. I so agree with that sentiment. *wink*

DSC_0006

The idea for the fun layers on the ice cream came from Lori's cute card you can see here. I just loved it so much I had to give it a try. Then I added some Star Dust Stickles for a little sparkle. I used Copics to color my images, I still need a lot of practice with them but I think I am getting better.
