Halloween Treat

Sorry about the washed out photo but this was very hard to photograph. I found the candy bottle at Target and the idea for this project sparked from the candy. I knew right away I wanted to use the new A Muse Skull & Bones.

I stamped the Skull & Bones with Stazon Jet Black ink, cut it out, then mounted it on a light gray Bazzill that I distressed and inked with Rangers Black Soot Distress Ink. The oval layers were cut out with my Nestabilities dies. The Black Sheer Ribbon and Black Vintage Note Card are both by A Muse.

So Cute It's Scary

I got to visit with my nephew Gavin today! As you can see he is getting ready to celebrate his very first Halloween. This Friday we will all be going down to Trick or Treat at my parents house. It has kind of become a tradition over the past 19 years. My kids always wanted to show Mom-mom and Pop-pop their Halloween costumes. So now we order in pizza and make a night of it.

Here is a photo of some of the decorations in my parent's front yard. It looks amazing at night when everything is all lit up. I think I like answering the door for the Trick or Treaters best, they all say we have the best house on the street.

I used the new little Missy B Mail Truck from the holiday release to bring Linda a truck full of birthday wishes. The back ground was made using the Present bl, which I believe is retired now. I stamped everything with Stazon Jet Black Ink and colored my images with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. All layers were cut out with my Nestsbilities Dies.

Jack O' Lanterns

Sorry I've been missing this past week. I was pretty sick ~ another attack of my Gastroparesis and I have not done much other than go to work and come home and get into bed. But I feeling much better now.

Lexi gave the Saltbox Design Team this really fun challenge last week. During our sneak peek week this month Lexi made this great card. Well she thought it would be fun to see how the Design Team would turn the tall pumpkin from the Pumpkin Oak set into a Jack O' Lantern.

Well I also added the small pumpkin from the Give Thanks set to make a little Jack O' Lantern pair. First I stamped the small pumpkin, masked it and then stamped the tall pumpkin, both in Versafine Onyx Black ink. The images were colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. October is from the Fall Banner set. I used my rectangle Nestabilities Dies to cut out the layers, which are up on foam tape. The black kitchen notecard and sheer orange crush ribbon are both from A Muse. I tried my hand at a little shading around my jack o' lanterns. It came out okay but I think I need some more practice! It's always fun to try new things!

Beware!

This is my favorite time of year, the temps are finally getting a little cooler, I can wear my sweaters without people thinking I am nuts (I am always cold), and Halloween is just around the corner. Some of my most favorite stamps are my Halloween stamps.

I got to make a card recently for the A Muse News blog using their Haunted Mansion stamp which I combined with the Bat Trio, Big Dot Bl, and Beware. I had tons of fun working on this card!

I stamped the Big Dot Bl with Yellow Citrus Colorbox ink to make the moon, then I stamped the Bat Trio with Stazon Jet Black ink over top. The Haunted Mansion was also stamped in Stazon Jet Black ink and colored with Prismaclor Pencils and Gamsol. The edges were lightly inked with Rangers Black Soot Distress ink so a kind of spooky night look. I also used a distress tool on the green cardstock. I stamped Beware with Stazon Jet Black ink and then cut it out with the Nestabilities tag trio dies. I used an A Muse Black Kitchen note card for my card.

As we all know, many US military personnel are currently overseas serving our country. These brave men and women miss home terribly. For many, a letter from home means the difference between hope and despair.  Correspondence from home is the MOST requested item from most military personnel.  Sadly, many of those stationed overseas never receive regular correspondence from home. 

A Muse has teamed up with Operation Troop Aid to put a handmade card of appreciation in the hands of as many deployed military men and women as possible. Candy Corn Treats

Just a quick post tonight. We had an unexpected night alone, all the kids and plans so Leon took me out to dinner! Something we hadn't done in a long time so it was very nice to go out and be grown ups for awhile. Thanks for the sweet surprise honey!

I just love candy corn and could not resist making up a little treat bag filled with the yummy treats. This was so quick to make up I think I am going to do some more tomorrow that Jessica can take to school to give out to her friends. I have some ideas already for some of the Saltbox Studio images I haven't used yet. 

For this one I just used some scraps I had left out on my table and a pumpkin from the Saltbox Studio Give Thanks set I had already stamped earlier this week with Versafine Black Onyx ink. I colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I cut the layers out with the plain and scalloped circle Nestabilities Dies, filled the little bag with the candy corn and sealed everything closed. Easy as that! I can't wait to make some more.

One more bit of news to share ~ Erika, one of the A Muse designers has a brand new blog~ Erika Designs. You may remember her old blog accidentally got deleted! Opps!!! But she is back better then ever and I can't wait to see her wonderful creations.

Okay, I couldn't help myself and I just had to use some of the new Fall images again. *wink* I think the pilgrim image has to be my favorite stamp from this Saltbox Studio release so far. They remind so much of the decorations my Mom puts up each year.

 

The pilgrims and the sentiment are both from the new Give Thanks set and the little pumpkin is from the Fall Season Banner set. 

All images were stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink and colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I cut the pilgrims and pumpkin out and the pumpkin is attached with foam tape for a little more dimension. I used the raffia instead of ribbon for a more rustic feel. The Vintage Black paper is by A Muse.

Hark The Herald Angels Sing

I have another look at one of the mice from the Saltbox Studio Church Mice set tonight. This one reminds me of all the school plays we did at St. Stephen's during the holiday season when I was going to school. I remember one year my whole class dressed up as angels for the school Mass.

This sentiment is from the new Joy to the World set. I can also remember practicing this song in chorus. When I was in the 4th grade we were chosen to sing before the Archbishop who visiting in Miami Beach. That was a real honor back then!

I stamped my image with Versafine Black Onyx ink and it's colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I added Star Dust Stickles to the little angels wings and Yellow Stickles to her halo and wand for some extra sparkle. I inked the edges with Rangers Frayed Burlap ink to tone down the white some. The ribbon and paper are from A Muse.

Away In A Manger

As promised here is a card using some of the new Saltbox Studio Holiday stamps. These mice are just the cutest and I love seeing what Beth will have them doing next with each release.

The mice are part of the Church Mice set and the sentiment is from the Classic Christmas set. I stamped the images with Versafine Black Onyx ink and they are colored with Prismacolored Pencils and Gamsol. I stamped a second star and raised it up on foam tape and added yellow Stickles for some extra sparkle. The edges have also been inked with Rangers Frayed Burlap Distress Ink so the white was not so white. The rectangle layers were cut out with Nestabilities Dies. The pattern paper and ribbon are A Muse.

I have another card to share today using images from the Give Thanks set. Can you tell I just *love* these Fall stamps! In Florida we don't really have a Fall season so I guess I have been kind of making my own with all these wonderful Saltbox Studio images. I promise to share some of the holiday images tomorrow!

This sketch came from Splitcoast Stampers and I believe it was part of a World Card Making Day challenge. I just thought it fit this sentiment nicely so I went with it. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx ink onto the Kraft cardstock as well as the leaf image, which is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. The leaf image was also cut out and attached to the sentiment layers, which were cut out with Nestabilities Dies. The edges have all been inked with Rangers Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.
