Missing in Action Once Again...

If anyone still reads my blog, thanks for continuing to stop by. Life has been busy and complicated these days. We had been without internet for awhile and just got everything set back up today. All I can say is I am sure happy to have my computer back!

In the mean time school has been keeping me very busy. This summer has me learning phlebotomy and Urinalysis. Now we are getting into the good stuff!  LOL I am hoping to maybe find a weekend job in a lab or blood bank as a phlebotomist once this part of the training is done.

We also celebrated Gavin's 1st birthday a few weeks ago. I can't believe he is a year old already...time really does fly.

Happy 5th Anniversary Honey

Five years ago today we were rushing around to leave for the Port of Miami. I was a nervous wreck, not about the wedding ~ I just knew I was going to forget something. Needing all the wedding gear, favors, plus getting us ready, and packing for the honeymoon, was a bit much. But we made it and I didn't forget a thing ~ That we couldn't buy along the way anyway. LOL

It was a beautiful ceremony on Carnival's Paradise ship, we had an exciting honeymoon with a ton of excursions, and it has been an amazing five years so far. Leon, I love you more and more each day, thank you for being my husband! I look forward to a lifetime with you!

This is the anniversary card I made for Leon. He got such a kick out of the fish on his birthday card I thought I would use him again. The fish is by Endless Creations, and you actually get two fish on one wooden block so you can stamp them facing each other like that. How cool right! I used the long grass by A Muse again for seaweed. Kiss Kiss and the tiny hearts are also by A Muse. I ran the blue Bazzill paper through the bubbles embossing folders for a little texture. This was a quick card but I think it came out cute.

7 Months Old Already!

Each month my sister has had a little "birthday" party for Gavin to celebrate his month birthdays. Yesterday was his 7 month birthday already and we all got together for dinner and dessert.

He had seven little candles and we sang Happy Birthday but all Gavin wanted was to get his hands on that cake! He is going to be a pro at this by the time his 1st birthday gets here. *wink*

Here is an after shot ~ Boy did he get good and chocolatey! He even had it on his back but he had a good time!

Gavin is such a good boy he even tried to clean up when he was all done eating his yummy cake. *laugh*

I have been busy working on Gavin's Baptism invitations so I'll have one to post soon. I am pretty happy with the way they are coming out. I hope you are having a crafty weekend!

Santa Came Early!

Leon and I got up and went out for breakfast like we usually do on Sunday and out of nowhere he says, "I've decided I'm giving you your Christmas present early!" Now this is after we talked about NOT exchanging gifts this year so you could say I was in shock by this statement. We had a few errands to run so Leon had fun teasing me until we got to Best Buy. I figured it was just another stop ~ we usually go there and Target on Sunday...Leon likes to look at the jumbo flat screens and drool.  :)

Well look at what came home with me!

He said giving it to me early would give me time to learn how to use it so I could take some really GREAT photos on Christmas. So I charged up the battery and have been reading the manual (Aren't you proud Heather!) since we got home! To say I am excited is the understatement of the year, I have been wanting a Digital SLR camera since they came out. This is going to be so COOL!

 

Well I am off to practice some more. Jessica! Get out here...I want to take your picture again. *wink*

Happy November 1st

After spending the last four days in bed and missing work I knew there were a lot of things that I was NOT going to get done in time for Halloween. So instead of stressing I'll save them for next year. Since I got sick I have been doing a lot of that...saving for next year or the next holiday. There were some gifts I wanted to make and  the pumpkin didn't get carved. Leon HATES to touch the pumpkin guts. LOL Well I guess I was stressing a little because I forgot to bring my camera!!! I used my Dad's but did not get any good shots of the girls in their costumes. They took forever doing their makeup (Girls!) and by the time they were ready to go it was so dark out the shots were all washed out and blurry. But they all looked GREAT!

I did get some early shots of Gavin our cute little lion all ready for his first Halloween! He just had the BEST time out Trick or Treating for his Mom!  LOL  He *loves* being outside!

And here Gavin is with all his I mean Mommy's candy! I did sneak and give him a little taste of a lollipop after all he did all the work looking so cute!

So Cute It's Scary

I got to visit with my nephew Gavin today! As you can see he is getting ready to celebrate his very first Halloween. This Friday we will all be going down to Trick or Treat at my parents house. It has kind of become a tradition over the past 19 years. My kids always wanted to show Mom-mom and Pop-pop their Halloween costumes. So now we order in pizza and make a night of it.

Here is a photo of some of the decorations in my parent's front yard. It looks amazing at night when everything is all lit up. I think I like answering the door for the Trick or Treaters best, they all say we have the best house on the street.

Happy October 1st

Just a quick post tonight. Yesterday I was able to visit Gavin since we had the day off from school. I can't believe how fast he is growing, he'll be four months soon! He is smiling all the time now and he has such a cute giggle.

I have been really busy this week getting ready for the new Saltbox Studio release! This one is packed with images for Fall and the Holidays! You are going to *love* it. I hope you'll come back tomorrow for the start of SNEAK PEEKS!

Proud Moments!

I just got home from Toby's Open House tonight and it was a pretty special night full of "Proud Moments"! The first one of the night was the one he has been waiting for all summer long. You see about two weeks into the summer vacation we got Toby's FCAT (Our state standardized test) scores and not only did he pass but he gained over 100 points in each subject! This meant he had won a brand new laptop!!! Which he was able to pick up tonight. Out of about 300 students only 20 earned the laptops this year! I am so very proud of him!!!

And here he is enjoying his reward tonight. Sorry the photo is so bright, I had to use the flash in his room.

The next "Proud Moment" was while we were visiting his classes, his Culinary Teachers told me they had selected Toby for competition this year!!! This is a really BIG honor for students in their third year of Culinary and if he wins he travels to the next competition! This is almost as big as the Food Network Challenges! Now he needs to decide if he was to compete in cooking or baking. I think he may be leaning more towards baking.

I have been doing some crafty things ~ some I can't share just yet but you are going to *love* them soon! I do have some others I'll be posting this week but it just seems like I am always going, going, going these days. I hope to slow down now that all the kids Open Houses are done.

Fun In The Sun

This afternoon I took Jessica and her friends to the beach for some birthday fun in the sun. We have had such terrible weather the past few weeks that it was nice to see the sun again. I think the girls turned into fish for a few hours, they hardly got out of the water. 

These are Jessica's three BEST friends. (Jessica is in the white tank top.) They do everything together, and they are with each other every weekend. I am so glad she has such good friends! I had fun with them all today and they even told me I was a COOL Mom! LOL I think she had a fun birthday! Not much sleep but a lot of fun!!!

While we were having fun at the beach Leon was having his own fun in the sun. He was out fishing today and caught a bunch of tuna. I know what Leon and Toby are having for dinner this week!

Stop back tomorrow...I have the goodie bag gifts Jessica gave her friends to thank them for coming to her party to post. I made them each journals! They were a BIG hit!
